Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. The LVN will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients, particularly those with developmental disabilities and other complex needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform specimen collection processing and ensure proper handling and transportation of samples.
- Support discharge planning by educating patients and families about post-care needs and resources available.
- Engage in toddler care when applicable, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for young patients.
- Conduct medical imaging procedures, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a hospital setting or long-term care facility preferred.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and experience working with this population is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on patient education.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while providing compassionate care to all patients.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and work schedules as required.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience working with children in hospital of Skilled Nursing Facility setting required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse license
- BLS (American Heart Association)
